What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Shift Cylinder Maintenance position at Maine Oxy?
Maine Oxy has an opening for a Cylinder Maintenance position in our Auburn, ME location. This is a hands on entry level position. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 7 AM to 4 PM. Opportunities to grow in the department! Must be comfortable wearing a fitted respirator while painting cylinders.
Position Summary
Performs cylinder re-qualification assignments. Inspect individual cylinders and completes any maintenance needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs cylinder requalification work assignments including visual inspection, valve replacement, painting, handling, and shipping in accordance with DOT regulatory and procedure requirements.
- Executes daily work assignments in accordance with established priorities and orders and assures own work is accurate and meets regulatory and existing procedure requirements and management’s expectations.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work space.
- Inspect cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Maine Oxy, and distributor standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Safety must be first priority.
- 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred but not required.
- Aptitude to operate and maintain pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Must have the ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures and other company and industry documents.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to see, speak and hear.
- Frequent sitting and standing, walking, bending, using hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; may stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to lift 10-20 pounds and occasionally lift 50-100 pounds.
