Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting our contractual clients with accounts receivable, maintaining accurate customer accounts, researching payments and postings, making daily deposits to various financial institutions, preparing lien notices and assists with various financial tasks for the Association.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives and verifies customer payments, ensuring accurate application to appropriate accounts.
- Researches and resolves misapplied or partial payments, responding promptly to customer account inquiries.
- Processes check payments and makes daily deposits to various financial institutions.
- Assists with maintaining accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Provides customer service to contractual clients, addressing billing inquiries, disconnection notices, payment arrangements, and related concerns.
- Ensures the confidentiality of financial and personal information obtained from utilities and utility personnel.
- Prepares lien notices as required and assists in financial reporting or documentation as needed.
- Generate Accounts Receivable for MRWA training events, conferences, job billing, membership campaigns, etc.
- Performs other financial and administrative duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Three to Five years of experience in a related role required
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
