Job Description
The University of Maine Facilities Management Department seeks applications for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor CL2 (Custodial). Starting pay for this full-time position is $25.45 / hr.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Supervises facilities maintenance staff to include : prioritizing, assigning and scheduling work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. May manage time or payroll issues.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations in assigned area of responsibility, which may include planning, and coordinating projects and processes; developing work plans; inspecting in-progress and completed work to ensure conformance with established standards; and monitoring compliance with applicable standards.
- Responds to a variety of inquiries, requests, and complaints from staff and faculty.
- Maintains inventory which includes calculating materials needed and ordering supplies and materials when levels are low.
- Completes assigned duties of maintenance jobs which include repairs, preventative maintenance, etc. in area of assignment.
- Enforcing policies and procedures, including safety standards.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Work is primarily routine in nature, with specific goals and objectives, but includes the ability to address non-routine situations.
- Must be able to follow a detailed cleaning program, train staff to follow it, and conduct daily audits.
