Job Description
As part of the leadership team, a Adventure Challenge Coordinator is responsible for supporting all summer camp programming that utilizes our challenge course which includes a low ropes and high ropes course. They will also need to be a positive role model for staff to approach with any needs or concerns as well as support other aspects of camp programming. This position will require a lot of flexibility, patience, and self-motivation. This position will be based at Bryant Pond 4-H Camp in Bryant Pond, Maine. This is a full-time position from June to August. Work hours can be flexible when working to meet camp needs during that time frame. $500-600, for 10 Weeks.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain all challenge course equipment and elements
- Fulfills the role of DHHS mandated Adventure Challenge Director duties
- Supervise program staff on the challenge course
- Nighttime duties including- Monitoring shower house and overnight support
- Supporting and filling in for programming
- Occasional bunk duty, or campsite coverage
- Attend staff meetings and debriefs as scheduled.
- Plan lessons, lead activities, mentor staff, and campers, and provide opportunities for campers and staff to learn and explore the outdoors through high-quality experiences.
- Supervise campers and ensure safety and risk management policies are followed.
- Perform camp chores that benefit the greater community.
- Provide basic first aid as needed
- Depending on training, some staff will also be lifeguards, shooting sports instructors, trip leaders, or other leadership roles as warranted and agreed upon.

Who We Are :
The 4-H Camp and Learning Centers provide environmentally focused programs for Maine youth and families in Bryant Pond. Our mission is to teach youth and adults to be effective and caring citizens of the earth through affordable environmental education and fun nature-based experiences. The camp is located in Bryant Pond, Maine is nestled on the shores of Lake Christopher with 160 acres of forest and mountain trails leading to remote campsites, streams, ponds, wetlands, and a mountain summit. A short drive from the camp you can be in the beautiful White Mountain National Forest and the Rangeley Lakes area. The local area provides many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts including rock climbing, backpacking, hunting and fishing, canoeing, and a large winter ski and sport industry. Portland, Maine's largest city is only an hour's drive with live music, great food, and shopping.

Experience with belay systems, rescue, and safety systems
