Maine School Administrative District No. 33 serves students in grades PreK-12 in St. Agatha, ME, home of the Long Lake Fishing Derby, one of the largest fishing derby's in the state!. The district has two (2) schools under one roof, Wisdom Middle/High School and Dr. Levesque Elementary School, a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. The district is also home to the St. John Valley Technology Center, serving students from MSAD33, MSAD27, and the Madawaska School Department.

Position Purpose:
Educational Technicians provide instructional support and assistance to students in both the regular and special education classrooms, which aims to help students meet state academic standards. The role involves working closely with classroom teachers to deliver supplemental instruction, monitor student progress, and implement interventions for identified learners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide small group and individual instruction to reinforce and supplement classroom lessons in reading, math, and other subject areas as needed.
- Develop and implement instructional activities, games, and exercises to support student learning and engagement.
- Administer informal assessments, collect data, and maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify student needs, develop instructional plans, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, and testing situations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.
Certification/License
- Maine Educational Technical III or II Certification
- Willing to work with any individual on acquiring the necessary certification.
- Maine Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) Required
Education
- Associates or Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment preferred.
Experience
- Successful prior special education Educational Technician experience for the appropriate grade levels preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.21 - $22.93 per hour
Expected hours: 32.5 per week
