Production Supervisor

Job Title: Working Supervisor - Sheet Metal and Metal Fabrication

Location: West Newfield, Maine

Overview: Maine Source is a prominent player in the sheet metal and metal fabrication

industry, known for delivering high-quality products and solutions to our clients. We are

currently seeking a skilled Working Supervisor to join our team. This position requires a

hands-on approach, as the successful candidate will be responsible for both supervising

and actively participating in sheet metal and metal fabrication activities.

Responsibilities:

 Supervise and lead a team of sheet metal workers and metal fabricators (8-12) to ensure

efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.

 Provide hands-on support and guidance to team members in performing various sheet

metal and metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembling

metal components.

 Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately plan and

execute fabrication projects.

 Oversee the setup and operation of machinery and equipment, ensuring adherence to

safety protocols and quality standards.

 Monitor work progress, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions

to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines.

 Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills, efficiency, and adherence to

best practices in sheet metal and metal fabrication techniques.

 Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality control, to address

technical challenges, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.

 Maintain inventory levels of raw materials and supplies, and coordinate with

procurement to replenish stock as needed.

 Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations related to

safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certification in sheet

metal fabrication or a related field is preferred.

 Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and metalworking, with at least 5 years of

hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

 Demonstrated leadership abilities, with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or

lead role.

 Proficiency in operating sheet metal fabrication machinery and equipment, including

shears, press brakes, laser cutters, and welding machines.

 Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques, materials, and industry standards.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and

motivate a team.

 Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

 Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
