Responsibilities:
- Educate and Support: Deliver personalized education to patients and their families on managing diabetes through nutrition.
- Evaluate and Modify: Assess patients' readiness to incorporate nutritional advice into their lifestyles and adjust plans for better outcomes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals to integrate nutritional therapy into patient care.
- Community Engagement: Develop and lead educational programs for both staff and the broader community.
Requirements:
- Must be licensed as a Dietitian in Maine.
- Registration as a Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required within 6 months of start.
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) by the National Certification Board For Diabetes Educators (NCBDE).
