We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mammography Technologist to join our Women’s Imaging and Radiology Teams! Job Description: The Work: Reviews patient history and physician's orders Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate Prepares equipment and supplies Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure Enters, transmits and reports exam findings Rotate to other MaineGeneral Imaging sites as needed/scheduled You Have: Active registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) required Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Radiographer (RT) required 1 or more year of previous experience, including Mammography experience preferred, but willing to train Mammography certification (ARRT) Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Work Shift: Job Exempt: No Benefits: Supporting all aspects of our employees’ wellness – physical, emotional and financial – is a critical component of being a great place to work.
