Job Description:
The Role: Patient Care Monitor Technician
This position works in collaboration with the medical-surgical inpatient nursing teams to care for patients requiring cardiac/telemetry monitoring.
The Work:
- Monitor patients’ heart rates and rhythms for any deviations from normal and will notify appropriate staff as needed
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and changes in rhythm and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts
- Reports abnormal telemetry findings or changes to nursing staff using appropriate systems
You Have:
- BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Will be required to complete an arrhythmia recognition class and attend mandatory updates as required
- 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Must demonstrate basic computer skills
- Must be proficient in medical terminology
