Job Description:
The Role: Patient Care Monitor Technician
This position works in collaboration with the medical-surgical inpatient nursing teams to care for patients requiring cardiac/telemetry monitoring.
The Work:
  • Monitor patients’ heart rates and rhythms for any deviations from normal and will notify appropriate staff as needed
  • Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and changes in rhythm and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts
  • Reports abnormal telemetry findings or changes to nursing staff using appropriate systems
You Have:
  • BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Will be required to complete an arrhythmia recognition class and attend mandatory updates as required
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Must demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Must be proficient in medical terminology
