As a Patient Service Representative at MaineGeneral Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical departments. You will also be responsible for scheduling appointment times, verifying insurance benefits, and determining and accepting required payments.
The Work:
Greet patients and answer phones in a professional and courteous manner
Perform clerical duties as needed to support clinical departments
Schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs
Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary
Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, and/or refer to financial counselors for follow-up
You Have:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and support skills
Ability to be flexible and shift priorities quickly
Strong attention to detail
