Summary
Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Board and CAQ Certified/Eligible Sports Medicine physician for their Sports Medicine Program. The candidate's initial training could be in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine or Physiatry, as well as Fellowship training in Sports Medicine. This position will supplement the busy practice of 2 sports medicine-specialized surgeons, 4 sub-specialty surgeons and 6 primary care sports medicine physicians.
Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is a multidisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and administrative staff committed to providing high quality medical and surgical care to patients of all ages. Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics is comprised of a surgical team of 7 surgeons within the Joint Replacements Division and the leading team within the Joint Replacement Center at Maine Medical Center; 3 Trauma and Fracture Care surgeons who are members of Maine Medical Centers Level One Trauma Program; and 6 surgeons in the Sports Medicine Program, which includes several sub specialty Orthopedic Surgical Providers as well as Pediatric Orthopedics.
Maine Medical Center is the largest hospital in the state with 700 licensed beds. It is the states leading tertiary hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Candidates will work in the clinical setting in conjunction with the sports medicine orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, and other care teams within the department. The candidate will also be expected to participate in covering local sporting events, work with community sports teams, and cover office call as part of the larger group.
The successful candidate will be joining Maine Medical Partners, an organization within Maine Medical Center, Maine's largest multi-specialty medical group serving the healthcare needs of patients locally and throughout northern New England.
