Mainely Provisions in Westbrook is hiring two part-time Convenience Store Clerks to join our team! This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment, assisting customers with transactions, and supporting light food handling and stocking tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, and able to help maintain a clean and organized store. These positions are part-time but there is an opportunity for more hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Cash Handling
- Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, prompt service.
- Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Verify customer IDs for age-restricted sales in accordance with store policies.
Food Handling & Preparation
- Prepare simple cold sandwiches and pizzas as requested.
- Handle pre-prepared food items according to health and safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring displays are fresh and well-stocked.
Store Maintenance & Organization
- Maintain a clean, orderly checkout area and service counter.
- Assist with routine cleaning and general store upkeep.
- Promptly report maintenance needs or equipment issues to management.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work closely with team members to ensure efficient store operations.
- Communicate openly and assist colleagues with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
