What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts/Inventory Specialist position at Mainely Tubs?
Mainely Tubs is looking for a Parts/Inventory Specialist who will be responsible for properly shipping and receiving inventory, timely staging and shipping outgoing orders. This position will keep parts room and remote locations stocked with products, put away all incoming parts, tag special order parts appropriately and assist Inventory Supervisor with part fulfillment. Safety is our priority, whether, in the warehouse or out in the field. You will work collaboratively as a member of a team and be expected to multi-task throughout the day in support of the customer and the team. Primary Responsibilities/Job Duties (not limited to):
- Verifies and maintains records on incoming/outgoing shipments
- Assembles and prepares orders for shipment make corrections to orders based on last minute changes
- Updates systems with changes to maintain inventory accuracy; spot checks inventory counts within the parts room/warehouse periodically
- Assists Purchasing Specialist with updated inventory counts on all sellable merchandise to ensure adequate inventory levels are being maintained
- Assists Inventory Supervisor with updating Technician vehicle merchandise counts when new vehicles are added to the fleet and/or drivers switch vehicles
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, photograph damaged product, records shortages and corresponds with department personnel to rectify damages/shortages
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet requirements
Operates forklift to accomplish shipping/receiving duties in a safe efficient manner as needed
- Sorts and places materials/items on racks, shelves and/or in bins in the parts room
- Builds new shelving/storage to accommodate increased amounts of new merchandise in parts room/warehouse
- Establishes new merchandise bin locations in NetSuite as needed
- Maintains cleanliness throughout the parts room
- Fulfills part requests by service department, update inventory accurately
- Organizes parts room and work area for orderliness with a focus on safe operations
- Shuttle stock and will calls to remote locations, pick up returns and warranty items on a weekly basis
- Responds to emails in timely manner; assist other departments with inventory/parts questions
- Assist in yearly Physical Inventory and routine cycle counts.

- High school diploma and/or general education degree (GED)
- Five years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experience
- Clean driving record and valid driving license,
- Have the ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day
- Be agile and quick on your feet in evolving situations
- Be aware of surroundings and potential dangers to yourself and others
- Operate a forklift within the warehouse and outside
- Educate yourself on product knowledge and product maintenance
- Ability to be a team player; contribute positively in group situations
- Solid communication skills – both verbal and written
- Solid computer skills – proficiency in Excel, UPS Worldship, and NetSuite a plus
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
- Ability to be a self-starter and work well with limited supervision
- Ability to work extended hours as needed
- High accuracy and attention to detail
Physical requirements: This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 lbs.
Schedule/hours: This is a full-time position requiring 8 hours a day; Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (30 minutes for lunch). Overtime available and may be required at seasonal peaks.
