Job Overview
At Mainspring, Product Managers sit at the intersection of engineering, sales, marketing, installation, and maintenance to ensure that all of these elements come together to deliver successful products that maximize value for both customers and Mainspring. Our ideal Senior Software Product Manager has a technical background and strong communication skills. They enjoy and excel at engaging with customers, engineers, technicians, and consultants to fully identify internal and external customer needs and translate them into technical specifications for Mainspring’s teams. This is a unique opportunity to be a pivotal player on a growing team making a direct impact on climate change.
\n- Collaborate with Software Engineering to develop applications and tools that power core product functionality, fleet operations, and internal processes
- Driving the end-to-end software product management lifecycle, from customer research and requirements gathering to roadmap creation, product development, release planning, and launch. This includes both proprietary applications and third-party integrations
- Working directly with Mainspring engineering to manage development of internal products for fleet operation and various other internal software tools to support commercial scale-up
- Leadership in the product development process, starting with discovering customer needs, building stakeholder alignment on the vision for key elements of the user experience, and defining the product requirements. Participate in product validation and customer follow-up to ensure those needs are met for both internal andexternal customers
- Leveraging software and data to optimize operations across R&D, manufacturing, and field deployment to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Partnering with Technical Program Managers to ensure effective feature prioritization and sprint processes for multiple distributed software teams
- Process-oriented with experience translating customer needs into engineering requirements, API specifications, and user stories for software development teams
- Experience collaborating with software engineering, hardware teams, and commercial stakeholders to develop and deploy technology solutions
- Strong communication skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders across multiple groups and levels within the organization
- Excellent analytical reasoning and organization skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Bachelors of Science or higher in a technical field or demonstrated appreciation for and competency with complex systems and underlying tech-stacks.
- Experience with control systems and/or hardware-based products is a plus but not required

We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
Salary : $140,000 - $165,000
