What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Specialist position at Mainspring Recovery?
Job Summary:
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of Mainsprings Compliance Program in Lynchburg. Mainsprings Lynchburg facility will grow to have three distinct levels of substance use disorder treatment care- ASAM levels 3.5, 3.1, and 2.5. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to spot compliance issues and concerns, commitment to doing the right thing, initiative, time management skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for monitoring, investigating, reporting (within 24 hours as needed to DBHDS, payers, and internally), tracking, trending, and resolving all serious incidents.
- Completing concise root cause analyses on all applicable serious incidents and assisting the Director of Compliance with detailed root cause analysis when appropriate.
- Organizing Lynchburgs Quality Council and Quality Council meetings.
- Supporting the implementation of Mainsprings safety program including:
- Translating safety policies, theories, and strategies into action.
- Ensuring that daily, weekly, and annual facility inspections are conducted on time to ensure safe and healthful conditions for workers and compliance with applicable laws.
- Collaborating with operations to conduct monthly facility safety drills.
- Participating in Mainsprings Safety Committee.
- Conducting compliance and safety trainings as needed, including orienting new staff to Mainsprings Compliance Program.
- Compliance issue spotting and serving a resource for compliance related matters.
- Supporting clinical program compliance through audit and monitoring.
- Responding timely to all external medical records requests.
- Collaborating with HR to ensure compliance with OSHA and personnel training requirements.
- Assisting with licensing and accreditation preparedness.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS
- Bachelors degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Preferred experience with healthcare compliance and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Candidates with transferable experience may be considered.
