Job Summary:
The CRNP provides acute and chronic medical care to those combatting substance use disorders and mental health concerns.
Responsibilities include:
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess client’s clinical problems and health care needs.
- Provides history and physical exams for new admissions.
- Records physical findings, and formulates individual plan and prognosis, based on client’s condition.
- Discusses case with physician, counselors, and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive client care plan.
- Submits health care plan and goals of individual clients for periodic review by the medical care team.
- Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as needed. May refer clients for consultation to outside healthcare resources for treatment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS
- Nurse Practitioner licensure (Virginia required)
- DEA (Virginia required)
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a psychiatric care setting or mental health/substance use disorder environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience promoting good health and maintenance.
