We are on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to join our team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to manage inventory operations, maintain product quality, ensure organization, and uphold compliance standards in the cannabis industry.
Job Overview: As our Inventory Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining efficient stock management and organization. From product intake to inventory counts and order fulfillment, you'll ensure that our store runs smoothly, and our customers have access to top-quality products. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Intake & Quality Control: Oversee the inspection of all live stock products, promotional units, samples, and displays to ensure they meet quality standards. Verify product condition, quantity, SKU, and that they align with manufacturer and testing requirements.
- Product Input & Data Accuracy: Work closely with back-of-house staff to ensure accurate input of products into the POS system. Double-check for errors in SKU categorization, product descriptions, and pricing consistency across platforms.
- Stock Organization & Sales Floor Restocking: Maintain a well-organized stockroom and ensure the sales floor is fully stocked with accessible products. Contribute to a clean, inviting, and efficient shopping environment.
- Display & Presentation Management: Keep in-store displays fresh and up-to-date. Ensure that product availability, descriptions, and pricing are accurately reflected both online and on the sales floor.
- Inventory Counts & Reconciliation: Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure that physical stock matches the system records. Maintain meticulous records of inventory, ensuring accurate SKU tracking.
- Product Tagging & Labeling: Ensure all products are properly tagged for sale and meet labeling requirements, providing clarity for customers and team members.
- Website & System Updates: Regularly update product information, including strain details and cannabinoid content, to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Shrink Investigations: Lead investigations into inventory discrepancies, documenting findings, gathering staff input, reviewing security footage, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Metric & Compliance: Ensure the Metric system reflects accurate, up-to-date product information, and sales transactions.
- Stock Level Management: Track inventory stock levels, working with the purchasing team to forecast and order based on sales trends to avoid stockouts and lost sales.
- Quarterly Inventory Audits: Lead and oversee quarterly store audits to minimize shrinkage and ensure product and POS system alignment.
- Business Development & Collaboration: Partner with the general manager and purchasing team to develop strategies aimed at revenue growth, margin improvement, and enhanced customer loyalty.
- Team Support & Flexibility: Offer support across different store functions, providing coverage for team members and assisting with operations as needed.
- Security & Loss Prevention: Adhere to store security protocols, ensuring products are securely stored and restricted areas are respected to minimize theft and loss.
- Store Maintenance & Cleanliness: Regularly contribute to store cleanliness and organization, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers and staff.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and engage with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, especially in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency under pressure while upholding high standards of quality.
- Retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to assist with various store responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry products safely and efficiently.
- Intermediate knowledge of POS systems or the ability to learn quickly.
- A strong commitment to following company policies, security protocols, and regulatory compliance.
