Position Title: BREAKFAST BAR Reports to: General Manager

Position is for Mornings 5am-11am.
POSITION PURPOSE
Create a welcoming experience for all dining guests including but not limited to: friendly conversations with guests, coordinating guest’s requests, preparing daily breakfast items according to brand standards, ensuring proper amounts of food are prepared and refilled as necessary, maintaining inventory of food and beverage for proper ordering. Manage cleanliness of breakfast bar area.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Remain calm and attentive, especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies.
Provide courteous guest service promptly and efficiently. Monitor guests’ satisfaction of the breakfast items and area. Prepare breakfast by stoking the serving areas. Maintain serving areas during breakfast hours and break down the serving line when breakfast hours are over.
Conduct inventory of all food and servicer items and order items as needed. Conduct special weekly cleaning of breakfast bar items.
Perform other duties as required or assigned including but not limited to cleaning of public restrooms, guest laundry room and business center.
OTHER:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.
Clean and polish carts and other equipment used in the department.
Retrieve and input data from a computer terminal in an accurate, error-free manner.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting as door person or package room attendant when necessary.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Ability to understand and follow written and or verbal instructions.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes up to 25 lbs. throughout shift.
Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances on property.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Frequent lifting with considerable bending and stooping.
Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, bending, stooping, touching,
pushing, pulling, lifting, touching, standing, sitting, holding. Considerable hand and finger dexterity to lift and grasp objects such as room keys, utensils, etc. May require continued repetitive bending and stooping.
Requires high levels of contact with all types of people. Interacting with people to a high degree as relates to the attending of needs or requests of people or to the expressed or implied wishes of people. Immediate response is required.
EDUCATION:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
No prior experience required. Prior guest service or other hospitality experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
No special licenses required.
GROOMING:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
OTHER:
Applicants with additional language skills preferred.
