About the Role:
The Director of Program Management is responsible for the overall end to end process development and execution of network deployment programs to include: Fiber To The Home (FTTH), enterprise and Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) project management, business improvement, engineering, construction, installation, repair and maintenance. This role involves leading a team of project managers, Business Improvement Manager, operations analysts, technical writers, safety and training, fleet and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of FTTH technology, project management methodologies, and experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that all network quality requirements, maintenance, and timelines are met during all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive FTTH deployment strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
- Define program scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in FTTH deployment.
Program Execution:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of FTTH, Enterprise, MDU and other go-to-market deployment programs, from initiation to closure.
- Manage program budgets and schedules, ensuring adherence to financial and timeline targets.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, operations) and external partners (contractors, vendors) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Implement robust project management methodologies and tools to track progress, identify issues, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of project managers.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively and empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and community leaders.
- Communicate program updates and address concerns effectively.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure favorable terms.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management, summarizing program status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Conduct post-program evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future deployments.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on FTTH network deployment
- 5 years of experience in program management role, leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of FTTH technology, network architecture, and construction practices.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and schedules
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus
- Knowledge of GIS and network planning tools.
- Familiarity with agile project management methodogies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in working with local government agencies and obtaining permits
