Summary
Seeking Fiber Installation Technician with proven experience working in Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU), installing Business-Class products (phones, data / voice, security systems, cameras, Wi-Fi Access Points, etc.), as well as installing fiber to the home products.
The primary responsibility of this Fiber Install Technician position will be working in Multiple Dwelling Units and business locations as well as residential homes. The Fiber Install Technician is responsible for running fiber or ethernet cables throughout a MDU, business or customer’s resident. The Fiber Install Technician will also assist customers in finding the best location to place and set up equipment, while also providing customers with a walkthrough of how to use this equipment. It is expected that the Install Technician will be present to assist customers with questions or concerns and ensure the customer receives the best experience possible.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, communicate and execute successfully all components of a mid-size, multi-day installation project in a MDU or business setting as well as execute on single customer resident home installations
- Manage, communicate and execute successfully the installation of a variety of business-class products (security cameras, security badge readers, phone systems, data / voice systems, Wi-Fi AP, etc.)
- Install fiber and equipment in MDU, business or customer’s home, following best practice standards
- Provide customer education with the system and any associated Apps (Calix App, Wi-Fi set up, etc.)
- Work safely in attics, crawlspaces, wall fishing, and climbing ladders
- Review MDU / business / home layout to determine job specifications and installation needs
- Order and / or obtain required equipment to maximize installation time and reduce unnecessary truck rolls
- Must demonstrate effective and efficient problem-solving skills
- Maintain effective oral and written communication, provide proactive continuous updates
- Engage with customers to negotiate the placement of equipment, assist with system education and training of the new system / equipment
- Respond to inquiries and provide follow-up to customers
- Ensure the customer is satisfied with the work completed
- May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Wears appropriate safety apparel and is aware of and follows all established safety practices and procedures
Must be able to pass MSFN Motor Vehicle Record requirement
Preferred Skills
MSFN will provide OSHA-10 certification if not applicable
