About Maintech and the Role:
Maintech provides computer system and LAN/WAN services to mission critical, multi-vendor, multi-site applications in the Financial, Telecommunications and Research and Development markets. Maintech's broad spectrum of IT design, procurement, project management and maintenance services, includes 24/7 managed network and systems support.
This is a 1 year contract role. The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Friday 10am-7pm & Saturday 8am-5pm. Requires flexibility for occasional overtime. Must be able to function without direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Client-facing interactions via email, IM, and phone calls to coordinate activities inside the DCs
- Hardware Break/Fix Activities (DIMM replacements, Disk swaps, cache battery swaps, etc)
- Server Installs
- Server Changes (disk/memory adds)
- Server Move coordination/execution
- Network/Storage device rack/stack & connectivity
- Tape Library Operations (rotations, recalls, scanning)
- Vendor Escorts
- Managing colocation remote hands services to execute work outside of the NY/NJ area
- Shipping/Receiving (unboxing packages, moving to storage, packing boxes for shipment to other locations)
Requirements:
- 3 years hands-on data center experience
- Server/break fix experience a must
- High school diploma or college degree preferred
- Technical school training a plus
- Network experience a plus
