JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing journeyman level work in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning trade involving the installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of electric, electronic, and computerized control systems.
PREFERRED TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a trade school or equivalent program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Successful completion of Maintenance and/or trade school training classes on three (3) types of digital control systems.
- Four (4) years of experience with the following control system brands: Allerton, KMC, Johnson and Delta.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years of experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training.
- Experience in the HVAC trade as a service or maintenance technician with a minimum of two (2) years automated system controls-related experience or equivalent formal training in automated systems controls operations
- OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
- Must have appropriate valid Florida Driver license required for vehicle(s) driven.
- Must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the District Safe Driver Plan II or district equivalent.
- Driver license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- All hires must pass the pre-employment drug screening according to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employees Testing Act (OTETA).?
