What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver position at Maintenance and Facilities?
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: a high school education or equivalent.
Certification or Licensure: None is required
Skills: Must be able to drive a truck 24,000 pounds and heavier. Ability to take and follow directions and carry them out. Good interpersonal skills. Good interpersonal skills with fellow workers and other personnel.
Work Experience: Previous experience in large vehicle driving is preferred but not required.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for working as a truck driver and material handler and assisting other members of the equipment crew in other areas, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for using the proper equipment as needed and maintaining the equipment in good working condition.
2.Ensures that trucks are properly loaded before movement.
3.See that materials or commodities are delivered, unloaded, and appropriately stored at the correct destination on time and in good condition.
4.Make sure the received and delivered commodities count is correct.
5.Clean up and properly dispose of debris per assigned service tickets.
6.Keep accurate records (travel logs, etc…)
7.Move school equipment and furniture.
8.The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned, or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition (on occasion lifts 100 lbs and higher and climb to heights of 20 feet to move equipment)
