PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the construction and maintenance of the district’s buildings and equipment.

 

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

SALARY SCHEDULE: G-5

WORK DAYS: 250

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: High school diploma; GED and diploma from an accredited vocational institution or approved professional certification training program; GED and one-year relevant experience

Preferred: Ability to work from sketches, drawings and blueprints

 

  1. Experience, Skill, and Certification: 
  • Basic knowledge of tools, materials and equipment of building and/or equipment maintenance trades, and the proper use of same
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions
  • Possess a valid class C driver’s license

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Performs maintenance, repair, or construction tasks to buildings, other district property or structures, and equipment as assigned or as necessary.
  2. Assists with various tasks for building and grounds upkeep, including clean-up of trash and other materials.                                                                                
  3. Loads and unloads trucks of equipment, furniture, and/or supplies.                     
  4. Delivers furniture, equipment and/or supplies using district vehicles.                                          
  5. Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed.                                                    
  6. Cleans equipment and tools as appropriate and ensures proper storage.                       
  7. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization and the safety of students and staff.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbents will be considered “at will.” Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work calendar will be 250 days. (G-5), Non-exempt, Public School Employees Retirement System Eligibility 

 

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

There is frequent use of computers, telephone, and other standard office equipment, which includes reading, listening, writing, or speaking. There are few exceptional physical or sensory demands.
