TITLE: Substitute Custodian
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: On-Call Basis
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To maintain clean facilities for students and staff which will enhance a positive learning environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Cleans all assigned areas
- Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors
- Washes windows, walls, woodwork and equipment
- Empties trash receptacles
- Moves furniture and equipment for cleaning and special events
- Replaces light bulbs and performs other minor repairs, as required
- Provides building security, as required
- Performs special custodial work, as directed
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
CERTIFICATION: CPR/First Aid; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
MODERATE RISK OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION: Works with some hazardous cleaning materials.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Demonstrated handling of toxic and hazardous chemicals; use of cleaning equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: One year or more experience required;
SUPERVISION: Perform as directed, responsible for own job.
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for some equipment.
LICENSE: Valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, extensive walking, standing and bending.
