Job Title: Groundskeeper/General Maintenance
Department: Building and Grounds
Status: Summer Temp 8-12 weeks
Summary: Groundskeeper and General Cleaning, painting, assisting with upkeep and cleaning of the District. Will be working at various locations within PTS
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
The Director will assign specific area(s) of responsibilities.
- Grounds
- Pick up and remove trash and debris from the property and dispose of
properly. - Handle outdoor equipment such as weed whackers, edgers, hedge trimmers,
leaf blowers, push mowers, and riding lawnmowers. - Also includes raking, mulching, and pulling weeds.
- General cleaning, painting, and maintenance
- Assist with the general upkeep and cleaning of the District
- Assist other maintenance personnel as assigned
- Other duties as assigned by Director or Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Dependable
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma
- College Students welcome to apply
- Valid Driver’s License with the ability to be insured on District Vehicles
- Ability to Follow Directions
- Ability to work Daily
- Ability to Climb Stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift 50 lbs – Climb Stairs and ladders
- Be physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Have Car/Transportation
Physical Demands:
The Physical demands are those needed to accomplish the Essential Functions described above. Good hand-eye coordination is important for safe productive operations. The job involves the ability to operate large equipment to small tools in which manipulative skills are very important. Position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will need to climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move as much as 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as recommended or stipulated by OSHA and as specified in the Material Safety Data Sheets for the materials being used.
