What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Fulltime (Summer) Maintenance Worker position at Maintenance Department?
Primary Purpose:
Assist with maintenance of grounds, warehouse help, furniture movement and any other projects deemed necessary by Director of Maintenance.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)
Ability to work independently and with others
Experience:
No experience necessary.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintenance and Repair
- Assist skilled workers with repair and general maintenance of district facilities, including repairing woodwork; painting, grounds, and warehouse help.
- Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform general maintenance and minor repairs.
- Assist with moving and detailing of district grounds.
- Move, install, assemble, and assist on repairs of school furniture and playground equipment as needed.
- Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screen, and other items as required.
- Work sporting events when scheduled.
- Use dolly or hand truck to transport furniture and equipment throughout district.
- Operate equipment and use tools following established safety procedures.

- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including safe lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain tools and equipment.

Equipment Used:
Power tools (cordless drill), hand tools (screw driver, hammer, pliers etc.), weed trimmer, blower, edger and garden tools.
Working Conditions: Work outside and inside.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking and standing; frequent lifting 25 lbs or less, carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
