Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting the Property Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor by ensuring vacant apartments are quickly prepared for new residents, addressing maintenance requests promptly, and resolving common repair needs such as minor painting and fixture replacements. Key Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned maintenance work orders efficiently and effectively
- Monitor and maintain building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, boilers) and perform necessary repairs
- Inform the Property Manager of urgent issues or anything unusual requiring immediate attention
- Assist with general groundskeeping as needed
- Handle snow removal on walkways and driveways during winter months
- Interact with residents, vendors, and the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred: Associate degree or certification in mechanical, HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance
- Preferred: Boiler license and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Minimum of one year of experience in residential apartment maintenance or related field
Skills & Abilities
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with coworkers, residents, and the public
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management abilities
- Able to manage multiple tasks independently and work well in a team setting
- Capable of responding to emergency maintenance issues within 30 minutes
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.32 - $26.63 per hour
