What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Maintenance Engineering Group?
The Service Technician will ensure the safe, efficient, and proper commissioning of machinery at the facility while delivering superior customer experience. Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between departments, including Sales and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
In-House Commissioning:
- Perform commissioning of machines on-site at the facility.
- Conduct troubleshooting of mechatronics, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
- Program PLC and HMI logic independently or in collaboration with Engineering.
Field Travel (Up to 10%):
- Conduct equipment performance analysis and provide recommendations for improvement at customer locations.
Operations and Communications:
- Operate equipment such as lathes and mills in the change workshop.
- Act as the primary contact for the Project Manager during commissioning, ensuring consistent communication with other departments.
- Complete administrative tasks, checklists, and machine documentation throughout the commissioning process.
Customer Support:
- Support Field Service Technicians on machine-specific topics.
- Represent the company professionally with current and potential customers.
- Prioritize customer satisfaction in all provided services.
Safety and Documentation:
- Follow safe working practices across all job facets.
- Maintain thorough documentation of machines during commissioning.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other related tasks that align with your expertise, training, and operational requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Technical degree (2- or 4-year program) in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation Technology, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting machinery and systems.
Skills:
- Proficient knowledge in electrical engineering, control technology, pneumatics, and mechanics.
- Functional expertise in PLCs (Rockwell required; Schneider preferred) with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Strong technical skills with a structured and reliable approach.

Additional Requirements:
