Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Monitor stock levels, identifying shortages, overages, and obsolete inventory.
- Organize and label inventory for easy identification and retrieval.
- Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on sales and usage trends.
- Work with the Parts Manager to optimize inventory layout and storage solutions.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and proper stocking of incoming parts.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; report discrepancies to the Parts Manager.
- Communicate with the Service Department to update them on parts order statuses and received items.
- Coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and accurate documentation.
- Select appropriate shipping methods based on cost, urgency, and handling requirements.
- Weigh, label, and affix postage to outgoing shipments.
- Ensure all outgoing shipments match packing slips, orders, and invoices.
- Address shipping issues, such as damaged goods, shortages, and incorrect shipments, with vendors and carriers.
- Maintain an organized shipping and receiving area.
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies, coordinating with the Parts Manager for replenishment.
- Operate powered material handling equipment to move shipments to designated storage or work areas.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse space.
- Assist in implementing and improving inventory and logistics procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklift certification is a plus).
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, methods, and carrier requirements.
- Basic proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts as needed.
