Position Summary:
Currituck County Schools is seeking a skilled and dependable Plumber to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures across all school district facilities, ensuring a safe and functional learning environment for students and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems.

Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and ensure compliance with local and state codes.

Perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner.

Collaborate with other maintenance personnel on projects and repairs.

Maintain records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.

Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Ensure compliance with district safety protocols and procedures.

Assist with other maintenance duties as needed.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid North Carolina plumber’s license preferred (or ability to obtain one).

Minimum of 3 years of plumbing experience, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.

Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, blueprints, and building codes.

Ability to troubleshoot issues and make effective repairs independently.

Valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to pass a background check as required by school policy.
Work Environment:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions (standing, bending, kneeling, etc.).

May be exposed to varying weather conditions while working outdoors.

Work may occasionally require being on-call or responding to after-hours emergencies.
