What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Mechanic - Electrician position at Maintenance?
Operate and perform maintenance/trouble shooting functions for a variety of systems which include, but not limited to: low voltage, fire alarms, security data networks; and perform other maintenance functions as required. Assist other trades as assigned. Participate in snow removal as required.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or other equivalent (GED, college, technical, or trade school transcript)
* Completion of apprenticeship as an electrician or journeyman electrician is preferred
* Must be in good physical condition for heavy work, i.e. lifting objects up to 75 lbs., lift and carry pumps, motors, etc., and snow removal
* Knowledge of the installation, operation, and maintenance of low voltage systems
* Test safety components and functions of electrical equipment
* Test and troubleshoot energized systems and repair motors, controls, overload relays, pressure switches, transformers, generators, emergency power systems, lighting circuits, circuit wiring
* Install switches, relays, circuit breaker, computer raceway and cables, telecommunications wiring, power panels, power distribution cables, bus ducts, and other electrical equipment
* Connect wiring to power equipment, fuse and breaker panels, electrical outlets and circuit wiring
* Inspect and calibrate limit switches and drive motors and other related electrical equipment
* Ability to follow written and oral instructions, and read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and operation manuals
* Ability to establish and maintain positive working relations with fellow workers, administrative staff, students and teachers
* Perform other duties in the district as assigned
* Current Act 34, Criminal Background Check; Act 151, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI clearance
Certificates & Licenses:
* Electrician or Journeyman Electrician preferred
* Valid driver's license
Terms of Employment:
* 12 months, 8 hours per day (6:30 am to 3:00 pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch)
* $29.81 per hour
