This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Facilities Leadership, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

Primary Function: Perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction duties in the maintenance of District buildings, facilities, and equipment . |

Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED |
Minimum of one (1) year successful maintenance experience with knowledge of methods, equipment and materials used in general maintenance work |
Must possess a valid driver's license, have dependable transportation, and have a good driving record |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction duties in the maintenance of District buildings, facilities, and equipment |
|
Perform various skilled duties such as carpentry, glazing, plastering, locksmithing, painting, plumbing, welding, roofing, electrical, heating, air conditions, ventilation, and refrigeration systems |
|
Inspect District and school buildings |
|
Install, repair and refurbish cabinets, bookcases and a variety of other classroom furniture and equipment |
|
Install, maintain, and repair shelving, bulletin boards and chalk/white boards as needed |
|
Assemble, move, pick up, and deliver various furniture and equipment as directed |
|
Install and repair floor and ceiling tiles, counter tops, windows, and latches |
|
Patch and paint damaged walls and doors |
|
Replace locks in doors and cabinets |
|
Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment |
|
Communicate problems/concerns with equipment to appropriate manager/supervisor |
|
Make recommendations which will improve job performance and/or equipment reliability as appropriate |
|
Work without constant supervision |
|
Complete all assigned work orders including special project work |
|
Maintain all tools and equipment used in performance of job responsibilities |
|
Maintain clean work site |
|
Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, obtaining proper signatures from the issuing administrator |
|
Estimate time, material and supply needs to complete assigned jobs |
|
Assist in ordering materials as directed |
|
Report immediately safety hazards which affect the welfare of students and district employees |
|
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee |
