What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Equipment Repair Technician position at MAINTENANCE?
Primary Purpose
- Maintain custodial equipment in a condition of operating readiness; performing routine repairs and preventive maintenance. Maintain accurate inventory of site based custodial and emergency response equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual - Spanish/English preferred
- Knowledge of custodial equipment maintenance
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams
- Ability to analyze problems to reach repair solutions
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years equipment repair experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe and efficient operating condition of custodial and emergency response equipment.
- Initiate warranty repair work requests through applicable repair vendor.
- Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations.
- Recommend when repair and/or installation assistance should be obtained.
- Document repairs and preventative maintenance utilizing current work order management system.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of site based custodial and emergency response equipment.
- Travel to schools to facilitate repairs, preventative maintenance, and/or train custodial staff in proper operating procedures based on manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Work in cooperation with Maintenance Supervisors in maintaining the district’s preventive maintenance and energy management programs.
- Participate in district’s Standard Reunification Protocol as directed by the District Incident Commander or designee.
- Be available for after hour demands.
