Job Title: Custodian
Reports To: Director, Operations
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Salary: Hourly; Based on qualifications and experience
SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the school facility including the facility grounds and custodial services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects and maintains all physical facilities on a planned basis to insure a good appearance.
Maintains an inventory for all custodial supplies.
Responsible for opening up and closing school building, activate and disarm security alarm.
Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the buildings and grounds.
Empties wastebaskets within designated areas; transport trash and waste to disposal area.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, classrooms, shops, labs, lounge and office areas.
Assemble, clean and dust furniture, tables, chairs and equipment.
Clean windows, blinds, doors, walls and window ledge as needed.
Sweep sidewalks and door entrances as needed.
Clean, sweep, mop, and scrub bathrooms; refill soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.

- Education/Experience: Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate and present information.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to use and understand basic mathematical skills.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
