Position: School Facility Manager Intern
Job Summary: As a School Facility Supervisor Intern, you will work closely with the facility management team to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of the school's buildings and grounds. You will gain practical experience in facilities management, including tasks related to maintenance, safety, and sustainability. This is a temporary position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in Facility Maintenance: Support the maintenance staff in conducting routine inspections, repairs, and upkeep of school facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain an accurate inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for facility maintenance and repair tasks.
- Facility Inventory: Help create a data base for all district facilities to include classroom size, material composition and mechanical equipment.
- Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Participate in initiatives to improve energy efficiency and promote sustainability within the school facilities. Assist in implementing recycling programs, energy-saving measures, and environmentally friendly practices.
- Assist with Projects: Support facility management projects, such as renovations, upgrades, or installations. Help coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist in administrative tasks related to facility management, such as record-keeping, scheduling, and communication with staff and contractors.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Facility Management, Engineering, Environmental Science) or recent graduate.
- Strong interest in facilities management, maintenance, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, construction, and maintenance principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
