Locksmith Helper (Anticipated)

Primary Purpose

Assist locksmith in installing and repairing all locks and hardware; help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure

• High school diploma or GED
• Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions in English
• Knowledge and skill to perform lock repair, window repair, and related maintenance assignments
• Ability and willingness to learn all trades

Experience

• Requirement determined by supervisor

Major Responsibilities and Duties 

1. Operate all tools and equipment common to trade in a safe manner.
2. Report all safety hazards in district facilities.
3. Examine district facilities on a regular basis for preventive maintenance relating to job.
4. Respond to emergency repairs immediately and report problems to supervisor.
5. Assist crafts or trades people in making any repairs and/or performing any new tasks to any district facility.
6. Follow all safety regulations related to all trade areas.
7. Be available to work flexible schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
8. Be available for after hour demands as needed.
9. Work with minimum supervision.

22. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Including but not limited to all tools required for lock repairs, all power and hand tools for door and window repair
