What are the responsibilities and job description for the Locksmith Helper (Anticipated) position at MAINTENANCE?
Primary Purpose
Assist locksmith in installing and repairing all locks and hardware; help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
- High school diploma or GED
- Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand written and oral instructions in English
- Knowledge and skill to perform lock repair, window repair, and related maintenance assignments
- Ability and willingness to learn all trades
Experience
- Requirement determined by supervisor
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate all tools and equipment common to trade in a safe manner.
- Report all safety hazards in district facilities.
- Examine district facilities on a regular basis for preventive maintenance relating to job.
- Respond to emergency repairs immediately and report problems to supervisor.
- Assist crafts or trades people in making any repairs and/or performing any new tasks to any district facility.
- Follow all safety regulations related to all trade areas.
- Be available to work flexible schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.
- Be available for after hour demands as needed.
- Work with minimum supervision.

Including but not limited to all tools required for lock repairs, all power and hand tools for door and window repair
