JOB TITLE: Custodian – Substitute

JOB SUMMARY
The Nadaburg School District currently has an opening for a Substitute Custodian. Fingerprint clearance and background investigation will be required of the successful candidate. Goal is to provide students and staff members with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
- Prefer previous custodial experience.
- Able to assist in keeping the school clean, orderly and safe.
- Trained in the use of custodial equipment.
- Knowledgeable of cleaning and simple repair techniques for equipment and materials used in custodial work.
- Able to maintain rapport with staff members and students.
SKILLED IN
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work well with public, staff members and students in a positive manner.
- Proficient in the use of all housekeeping chemicals, materials, and equipment.
- Performs maintenance and repair work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of the school.
- Assists in the preparation of buildings and grounds for operation and special functions.
- Informs maintenance of any damages to buildings and equipment and needed repair.
- Knowledgeable of water, gas and electrical cutoffs and is knowledgeable of operation of fire and alarm systems.
- Knowledgeable of electrical and mechanical devices and of tools and equipment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and can vary in temperature. The nature of this position is fast-paced and may occasionally be thought of as stressful. Through interaction with the public and other district employees, the employee may encounter different scents.
