ONSITE HYBRID IN PORTLAND!
Telecom Electrical Engineer
Electrical Engineer (with a PE is a big bonus) – not a mechanical or civil engineer
Telecommunications Experience
Should understand at least ONE of the following: Fiber, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Microwave
SCADA experience
Switching experience – in the same field
5-6 years as a EE, and another 5-6 years of Telecom experience would be great.
If not this, 10-12 years of hands on telecom experience and you can work your way up.
Working knowledge of OS365, Teams, Bluebeam for drafting, Pathloss.
Day to Day:
Generating drafts (with Bluebeam) that are sent to a Drafter
Redlining existing drawings
Reviewing standards and ensuring they are compliant
Researching utility specific telecom equipment
Calls with utility
Some in-field work (to do commissioning, testing, help field crews when they’re trying to problem solve) – anywhere in Western US.
Soft skills:
Highly organized
Can bounce from project to project all within the same day
May be switching between 4-5 projects and 2-3 different utilities (end client, so AM call with BPA, then mid day you’re dealing with NW Natural, end of day you’re working with Pacificorp).
