What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Art Director position at Maison MRKT?
As a Maison MRKT Jr. Art Director, you are an integral part of the team here at Maison MRKT. Our ideal candidate is a creative, organized team player with a great attitude, and someone who takes pride in creating visual assets that can help push Maison MRKT forward and delight clients.
You will work cross functionally to ensure on-brand continuity in visual messaging across all digital channels.
Responsibilities
This role will focus on:
- Creating visual assets for all of Maison MRKT’s client’s digital channels: Paid Ads, Social Media, Mobile, Desktop, and more through optimized graphics specific to each format.
- Assist in design and development of digital assets for Maison MRKT channels. Additional creative may include web assets or pages, digital banners, social/shareable assets, animations, presentation decks, logos/lockups, page layout, etc. always keeping designs on-brand and elevated.
- Create clean formatted design files that can be shared seamlessly by the entire team.
- Update and adjust designs based on feedback and seasonal changes. Execute all edit requests (design, copy) throughout design process collaboratively, including proof and production phases for all content prior to release of final creative.
- File preparation, creating mock-ups, setting up presentations, gathering inspiration and research, and setting up production-ready files.
- Serve as point of contact for internal and/or external vendors when necessary
- Initiate collaboration with creative team members, as well as cross-functional departments.
- Present work thoroughly and thoughtfully; share presentations and/or decks when requested
- Participate in team meetings and play an active role in Maison MRKT’s company-wide initiatives and brand goals.
- Bring new ideas for creative deliverables and formats to the team through the lens of user experience, effective visual design and innovative creative problem solving.
- Designing and building of weekly emails (compatible in Klayvio), and creation of additional brand marketing assets as needed.
Preferred Skills
- 1-3 years of graphic design experience; experience in retail, lifestyle, or fashion preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; knowledge of After Effects or a strong interest in learning advanced motion graphics a plus
- Experience creating emails for Klayvio strongly preferred
- Online portfolio of work demonstrating experience in digital and print design
- Efficiency, process and detail driven designer with exceptional typographical skills, sense of layout, color, composition, and/or illustration abilities
- A highly collaborative, communicative team player with ability to multi-task across various project requests while maintaining brand standards; exceptional organizational skills, owning calendar and managing deadlines
- Results driven; strategic, conceptual and innovative thinker
- Working knowledge of productivity tools (e.g., Adobe suite, MS Office, Slack, G suite)
