Maize South Elementary School is seeking a Structured Learning (Low Incidence) Special Education teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Maize has many resources to support our special education teachers, so they can provide amazing instruction and support to their students.
- 7% supplemental pay to recognize the unique aspects of the role (over $3,300)
- Commitment to ensuring teachers receive scheduled lunch and planning time
- 4 classroom covered IEP days per year
- Ongoing support from an Instructional Coach Team for Special Education
- Regular access and collaboration with extended therapists teams (Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other specialists)
- Strong paraprofessional support
- Low student-to-staff ratio
An experienced educator with a low incidence endorsement is preferred, but Maize is willing to assist candidates in obtaining full licensure. Many special education teachers start with a KSDE waiver while earning their Master’s in Special Education, and Maize offers up to $9,000 in tuition assistance in these cases.
