Overview
Indiana's premiere contract guard service is currently looking for a Part-time security officer in the Winchester, Indiana area to provide security working with the local community in order provide shelter for homeless Veterans at The Journey Home. The ideal candidates will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, utilizing surveillance techniques and conflict management skills to ensure safety.
Perfect for retirees with security, law enforcement and/or military backgrounds.
Job Type: Part-time 8pm -8am Saturday-Sunday
Ability to fill in other shifts during the week
Pay: $19.00hr
Duties
- Monitor and patrol designated areas to ensure the safety and security of premises.
- Monitor CCTV cameras to observe and report any suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of the building and exterior grounds.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to address security concerns.
- Engage in conflict management to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing company policies.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Drug Free and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in security, military or law enforcement is required.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems (CCTV).
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
