Job Title: Production Operator
At Majestic Steel, we are seeking highly motivated production operators to join our second shift team. As a production operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery and lift trucks, testing dimensional tolerance, and reporting production data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate one production line in accordance with standard operating guidelines and procedures.
- Consistently meet production goals by managing all aspects of product quality including material selection, dimensional tolerance, weight, and piece count.
- Conduct pre-process, in-process, and post-process inspections to ensure quality standards.
- Prepare inspection records and production data reports using the ERP system.
- Comply with work order instructions and report any equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in limited space areas.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by practicing safe work habits, adhering to safety guidelines, and wearing required personal protective equipment.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements:
- One year of production operator experience is required.
- Experience with MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Able to accurately use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, tape measure, and micrometers.
- Intermediate level math, mechanical, and computer skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures are required.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience working in a Steel Service Center on a leveling and/or slitting machine is desirable.
- Knowledge of leveling theory is an advantage.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk; sit; stand; climb; bend; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to mount, dismount, and operate powered industrial equipment.
- Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days, as needed, which includes weekdays and weekends.
