Major Food Group seeks a passionate and motivated individual to drive event and catering sales in the Northeast, specifically in New York and Boston areas.
Responsibilities :
- Generate business leads through proactive outreach to new clients, event planners, and corporate partners.
- Maintain a calendar of local and regional conferences & events; conduct proactive outreach to relevant companies to capture business associated with local and regional events.
- Conduct market analysis and devise strategies for generating new event & catering business.
- Create an annual sales plan to support sales forecasts, identifying new revenue streams and opportunities for increased average event sale and increased volume of events.
- Craft sales campaigns focused on communicating and nurturing relationships with clients and driving repeat sales.
- Support the local event team in achieving sales goals through networking, developing business relationships, participating in professional organizations, and attending local events.
- Create proposals in a timely manner; follow-up accordingly to close deals.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of local news, events, and key players. Leverage regional knowledge to capitalize on business opportunities.
- Submit regular reporting on sales initiatives through both Monday.com and TripleSeat. Work with the internal finance team to create additional reports that will help to streamline the sales process and focus efforts on sales initiatives with proven ROI.
- Conduct regular audits of our sales & marketing materials, including websites. Work with the Marketing & Development teams to consistently improve upon existing sales & marketing materials and create new collateral to help drive sales.
- Identify 3POs to help bolster visibility and online presence; conduct regular audits of 3POs to ensure that all information is up to date and that our brands are well-represented.
- Maintain up-to-date competitive analyses for each restaurant.
- Assist with building and maintaining client database by gathering accurate contact information. Track & report on sales initiatives using Monday.com CRM.
- Pull client lists for various sales & marketing initiatives as needed.
- Send follow-ups after client meetings and networking events.
- Identify inefficiencies in the sales process and assist in creating SOPs and protocols to improve it.
- Remain up to date on business news and local news in New York & Boston to identify new business opportunities.
- Minimum 3 years sales experience in either the luxury or hospitality industry.
- Event coordination, management, or production experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Be polished, professional, and personable, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bring a book of existing clients and relationships.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities & objectives.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet strict deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to establish relationships and maintain a positive rapport with colleagues, clients, vendors, and suppliers.
- Highly professional written and oral communication skills required.
- Must be proficient in the following computer programs : Google Drive (gmail, calendar, docs & sheets), MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, primary social media platforms.
- Experience with TripleSeat (or similar CRM software) a plus.
- Experience with Canva, InDesign, and / or Photoshop a plus.
