Baseball Operations—Data Entry Internship
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the MLBPA On-Field system. This may include data entry, scanning and uploading files and preparing appeals.
- Organize and upload backlogged information pertaining to player contracts and player-agent forms/agreements into MLBPA’s online database.
- Obtain signatures for dues authorization forms on an as-directed basis.
- Assist various baseball-related projects as needed (such as counting player Major League Service days and days on optional assignment).
Requirements:
Applicants should submit a cover letter (in PDF or Word format), resume, and school transcript. Anyone who does not submit all the required documents will not be considered.
Qualifications:
- High School degree and currently enrolled in College/University.
- Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Understanding, sound knowledge, and familiarity with the rules of the game of baseball, baseball statistics, and players both past and present.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently, communicate effectively with MLBPA IT staff, and handle sensitive data in a trustworthy manner.
Location: New York Office – Will be required to come into the office 3 days per week until trained, then transition to fully remote in the fall.
Timing: 6-month internship
Salary: $20.00 per hour
