What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Influencer Strategy position at Major League Baseball?
MLB is looking for a seasoned expert to bring leadership and guidance to our rapidly expanding creator and influencer work.
You will lead a team dedicated to growing baseball through always-on and event-based creator and influencer partnerships. Reporting into the Vice President, Social Media & Innovation, you will join a cross-functional department with a mission to help new fans fall in love with baseball, and give existing fans more reasons to talk about the game. Creators and influencers are a central pillar of this mission, and you will help chart the course as we expand and strengthen the work we are doing in this space.
Responsibilities :
Lead influencer & creator strategy, inclusive of macro goals, talent mix, always-on approach, and event activation
Represent influencer & creator work as part of a cross-functional leadership team that includes social, comms, analytics, and event leads
Lead our influencer and creator team, providing both strategic oversight and career development for junior team members
Serve as a thought leader on influencer / creator trends, with a lens for how those trends can inform our broader social and content strategy
Lead identification, outreach, and contract negotiations with new partners from different verticals
Oversee influencer / creator budgets
Oversee the full lifecycle of campaigns and event activations - brainstorming, partner briefing, execution, and measurement / analysis
Mange day-to-day influencer & creator workstreams
Qualifications & Skills :
8 years of experience in an influencer marketing, creator marketing, or equivalent social strategy role
A passion for the influencer and the creator space, with a vision for how these partners can help grow a brand
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate the impact of creator / influencer work to senior audiences
A team player able to partner with different disciplines
Excellent project management skills, organization, and time management skills
Strong knowledge of social platform trends, influencer trends, and performance measurement
A love of baseball and a perspective on what makes the game special
A proactive mentality with a bias for action
Experience leading a multi-level team a plus
Agency experience a plus
Pay Range : $130,000 - $150,000
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
