What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Media Services position at Major League Baseball?
This is a hands-on role for a manager prepared to support individuals and teams solving complex distributed problems and enhancing our portfolio of streaming products. You will partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate the design and implementation of new, engaging features for our users.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned manager with a deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, experience supporting teams of engineers as they evolve in their careers, and a background in media delivery via highly scalable distributed systems.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- 6 years of experience actively crafting software solutions
- 3 years of experience leading one or more teams of 5-10 software engineers
- Recruiting, performance management, and talent development
- Implementing CI / CD, automated testing suites, and SRE best-practices
- Continuous improvement through quantitative measurement and qualitative feedback
Preferred Qualifications
Designing and implementing high availability distributed systems
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000.
