What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Protection Compliance Officer position at Major League Baseball?
Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing youth protection initiatives for the Baseball & Softball Development Department of the Office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball, including overseeing policies and procedures for youth-related programs, activities, and events.
Responsibilities
- Implement and disseminate approved youth protection policies, procedures, and programs
- Serve as liaison with other departments, Major League Baseball (“MLB”) Clubs, affiliated youth programs, and the U.S. Center for SafeSport in ensuring compliance with youth protection laws, policies, and procedures
- Manage all communication and materials regarding MLB’s youth protection initiatives
- Develop and oversee youth protection training for relevant employees and staff
- Coordinate and monitor youth programs, activities, and events to ensure compliance with youth protection policies and procedures, including conducting on-site evaluations
- Manage the investigation and resolution of complaints and reports of youth protection policy violations, including coordinating with MLB’s Department of Investigations and law enforcement as appropriate
- Maintain and audit youth program registration, training, and background check materials, including ensuring timely updates, completion of relevant documentation, and updated processes to facilitate administration
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations impacting youth protection in sports, including the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 and any relevant laws in event jurisdictions
- Perform related duties as required

Pay Range : $135,000 - $175,000
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
