Overview

Position Summary

Major League Soccer is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of Web Production to manage the day-to-day site structure and page layouts of our official league websites—MLSsoccer.com, LeaguesCup.com and MLSNEXTPro.com. Working closely with User Experience, Product, Content and Marketing teams, this role will use existing CMS and website management tools to showcase the league’s best storylines, major initiatives and big events on the league’s flagship digital products in a fan-friendly and impactful way.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the day-to-day management of site structure and page layout updates to MLSsoccer.com, LeaguesCup.com and MLSNEXTPro.com in English and Spanish, ensuring timely updates to keep major events and storylines at the forefront.
  • Prioritize and coordinate requests from various departments including Content, Marketing, Product and User Experience to ensure cohesive and fan-friendly website presentation.
  • Lead the build, testing and deployment of marketing landing pages and microsites using existing no-code and low-code tools.
  • Embed deeply with the Content and Marketing teams to understand major league initiatives throughout the season and suggest ways to elevate their presentation.
  • Deliver network-wide site structure changes on MLS and MLS NEXT Pro club sites.
  • Act as the expert in our CMS and website management tools, using knowledge and experience to proactively recommend web and app experience solutions for various needs.
  • Use analytics data and UX standard methodologies to maintain a consistently excellent website user experience.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of web producers, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks and setting a high standard for execution and attention to detail.
  • Document areas of potential improvement in the web system and recommend strategic upgrades to Product and UX teams.
  • Manage and coordinate website updates during live match days, including nights and weekends, to ensure real-time, optimized coverage of events.
  • Manage ticketing, Apple TV and other partner integrations in the CMS.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Digital Media, User Experience, Communications, Web Development)
  • 5 years' experience in website management or web production
  • Proficiency in web content management systems, HTML/CSS, and Adobe Creative Suite

 

Required Skills

  • Ability to work live sports hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required, in support of live match schedules.
  • A proven track record of managing high-traffic websites, preferably in Media, Sports or Entertainment
  • Willing and able to be hands-on when necessary, demonstrating a strong understanding of the technical and creative aspects of web management.
  • High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer
  • Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience managing major sports or media websites
  • Spanish-language proficiency
  • Strong understanding of Major League Soccer, it’s clubs and players
  • Passion for the sport of soccer

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $90,000 – $115,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
