What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interim Financial Services Technology Transactions Attorney position at Major, Lindsey & Africa?
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for 1-2 Financial Services Technology Transactions Attorneys for a Contract Remediation Project.
Overview: We are looking for 2 skilled technology transactions Attorneys to spearhead a contract remediation project.
Company: A Financial Markets Infrastructure Company.
Experience: 10 years, technology transactions commercial contracts drafting and negotiation.
Location: Hybrid in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Working under the close direction of the Project Team, attorney will negotiate regulatory remediation on300-350 contracts, focusing on the three stated initiatives and other work in furtherance of the Project, as requested.
- Attorney will track all company positions and rationales for each contract amendment via a template to serve as a guide for all future decision.
- Attorney will exercise excellent judgment to balance working independently but escalating to SMEs where appropriate.
- Attorney will work to setup timelines for completion of remediation in collaboration with the Project Team and continually report on progress.
- Attorney will work with Project team to complete other additional tasks as assigned and agreed to.
Qualifications:
- 10 years law firm and in-house financial services experience handling third-party supplier contracts, with a focus on technology transactions
- Highly beneficial to have experience directly supporting or managing a regulatory remediation project (DORA, EBA Guidelines, FDIC Resolution Planning, Schrems II, etc.).
- Excellent demonstrable complex contract negotiation experience in the financial services environment.
- High proficiency in working independently and also closely collaborating with the Project Team.
- Diplomatic and creative law firm style negotiation experience to manage remediation in a challenging and highly sensitive environment.
- Experience documenting positions and issues for SME review, sign-off, and record retention purposes.
- Able to easily transition to company’s preferred document sharing and collaboration technologies, such as MS Office, MS Teams, and use of SharePoint for version control and shared documentation.
- Admitted as of 2015 or earlier, and in good standing in NY State.
